JD’s JOYRIDES - BEFORE YOU RIDE
JD’s Joyrides is based in downtown Boulder behind DOJO4:
2030 17th St. 80302
We are behind the building off the alley, just past the 2-story mural
There’s a 3-hour limit on free parking in our area, so a 3-hour ride puts you at risk of getting a ticket. Some options:
•ride your own bike
•ride a B-cycle (there’s a stand to return them about 1.5 blocks from us)
•take The Hop bus (there’s a stop within 2 blocks)
•park east of 20th St or south of Walnut St and walk over
•park in one of the downtown garages and walk over
JD’s Joyrides operates out of a shipping container. We do not have a public restroom. We’ll have access to some along the way.
Fortunately, biking is one of the “cleanest” activities you can enjoy in this time of virus. Still, to make it extra safe, ensure everyone’s comfort and respect personal boundaries, we ask that all riders arrive at the shop wearing a mask, and be prepared to wear it during the tour. We will ensure that all touch points on the bike are desanitized before and after every ride.
ABOUT THE RIDE
This is a 2.5 - 3 hour ride that will visit many murals and other objects of interest, as well as some popular Boulder sites/sights. To do that, we’ll go through several neighborhoods. We’ll ride on a mix of bike paths, trails and surface streets (we keep our time on busy streets to an absolute minimum). We’ll stop along the way for water/rest breaks, picture opportunities, etc.
If you can ride a bike, you can ride an eBike. The “e” in these bikes is pedal assist: if you pedal, the bike will help. You’ll still have to pedal to climb hills, but without gasping for breath or soaking in sweat when you get to the top. In the end, you’ll feel like you rode a bike, but it is by no means a strenuous ride. Exhilarating, yes, but not strenuous.
Riders must be 14 years of age or older (ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a guardian).
WHAT TO WEAR
Comfortable clothes for being outdoors on a bike. Please check the forecast for the full day you are riding. Conditions can change quickly in Colorado.
Protection against wind and rain are recommended. You’ll be riding a bike a little faster than usual and wind chill can be a real thing.

Reservations are confirmed when payment is received. Payment is refundable (less a 25% deposit) if we are informed of your cancellation more than 24 hours in advance of your reservation. This allows us to open your space back up for other riders.
If reservations are cancelled within 24 hours of the starting time of the bike tour, payment will be refunded only if we are able to sell or rent your space to another rider. No refund will be issued if we are unable to fill the space or rent the bike. If you do not show up for your reserved tour, no refund will be issued. We appreciate your understanding.
Weather conditions can change rapidly in Boulder and safety is our highest priority. If the weather is inclement and not conducive to a safe and pleasant tour, JD's Joyrides will cancel the tour and riders can reschedule for another day or receive a full refund.
